Why December is the Best Month to Buy a Car

Recently the experts have picked up on what we've been telling customers for years – buy a car in December if you’re looking for the best deals of the year. In fact, there are more cars sold the week of Dec. 26-Jan. 2 than any other week all year, because smart shoppers know to wait for our best offers. 

A recent report from Edmunds and MarketWatch predicts the best discounts of year to happen in December. They predict discounts off MSRP up to 10% on current model year vehicles (2015) and 6% discounts on upcoming model year vehicles (2016) in showrooms this December

So why December? Lots of reasons honestly, let's deep dive and see why: 

1. Finish Strong

Every manufacturer has a monthly goal and yearly goal. Every dealership has a monthly and yearly goal. Every sales associate has a monthly and yearly goal. In December, sales departments offer more than ever on trades, and manufacturers go for the goals with more discounts, rebates and incentives than ever before.

"Buy at the end of the year -- some dealers will clear out inventory for tax reasons," says Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com.
